Miguel & Wale in “Lotus Flower Bomb” video
Many have covered “Bennie & The Jets,” but Miguel & Wale brought something new to the table with their remake for the 40th anniversary re-release of Elton John’s no. 1 album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Miguel brings Alt-R&B vibes over a woozy production and absolutely nails it per his usual, while Wale delivers a solid rap verse. The duo previously teamed up for the hit song “Lotus Flower Bomb” in 2011.
The re-release will also feature covers from Emeli Sande, Fall Out Boy, The Band Perry and more.
